Entrepreneurship. When I first became an entrepreneur, I didn’t even know I was one. I didn’t even know there’s a name “entrepreneur” to call people that have their own businesses and be their own bosses. But one thing that I’ve learned, and I will always tell people, is do what you love, and do it with what the fairytale story Cinderella told you, have courage and be kind.
Entrepreneurship is not just about having a business of your own, but about doing what you love, loving what you do, changing the world for the better with the talent that you have. One of the greatest examples, and you know, one of my favorite examples is Steve Jobs, who always tell us “The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.” He had a vision, so do you. It doesn’t matter if you’re actually having your own business, or working for someone else, you are still exercising entrepreneurship. Entrepreneur is a person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so. So why did I say you’re still exercising entrepreneurship if you’re actually working for someone else? Entrepreneurship is about develop, organize, and manage a business venture along with any of its risks in order to make a profit. Entrepreneurship is about the relationships between people, businesses to businesses, and a mix of all of those. You’re exercising entrepreneurship by working hard, brainstorming ideas on how to make a business better, or even how to do so to make the world better.
One of my favorite advices is what Richie has taught that we should be fit financially, physically, and spiritually. We should live our lives like we have always wanted to be, and we should always treat people the way it should be — have courage and be kind. Treat a person with the potential that he/she could be, not who he/she is right now. That includes you!
If you are an entrepreneur now, or if you want to become one, now is the time to do it, to take actions, to be better, and to start changing the world now. The world doesn’t just change overnight, but with consistency of goodness, and hard work. There’s no better time than now, and there’s certainly no better way to do it than do what you love.
With my perspective of knowing that we are all children of God, I know that God loves us, and that He wants us to have true happiness, and to share our talents with the people around us. Use our talents wisely, and to be our brothers’ keepers, to help the ones in need. May we all exercise entrepreneurship now, and to make the world a better place, now!
