This week has been such an inspiring week. I was reminded that life's a journey, not a destination. And whenever I think of a journey, I think of how our Father in Heaven wants us to find joy in our journey. We entrepreneurs often think that we want to dream, and we want to make our dream comes true that we do what we love, and we get paid for it. Is it really just that simple? Jeff Sandefer once said “The most successful and fulfilled entrepreneurs are always advancing toward a vision that gives meaning to their life.” He also suggest that we begin with the end in mind so we will know why life is worth living and being true to our own values and dreams. I would like to think that we all want to do anything, and everything, for free, and to do it for everyone; only if money and having a better life is not, or even to sustain our life is not an issue. Meaning if someone feed us, cloth us, and take care of us, we will all be having so much fun just to help the others. Does that remind you of someone? Or something? This surely reminds me of my own daughters. Little kids are angels. They have the pure heart to just to help you and love you. They dream big. They don’t think about what is it going to take for them to get there. And it also reminds me of one of my favorite things to read/watch this week was Randy Pausch’s last lecture.
Randy Pausch was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams because he dreams big, and he will do whatever it takes to get himself there. He said brick walls are there for a reason, and the reason is to let us prove how badly we want things. And it’s not about how to achieve your dreams, but it’s about how it leads your life. I think we all need to dream, and we should dream big! There are so much to do, but so little time for us to waste time to not to dream.
When I was younger, I have always wanted to be a photographer, and make it as a living. I thought, how awesome would that be to be photographing people every day? And so I did. Was or is that an easy path? No. It was not easy, and it is still not easy. But it’s worth every single minute of my time, and all my efforts. I believe dreaming is not just about what you want, but it’s about what you want to do with your talent. Even dreams like sky diving, it’s a talent to have the courage, and to have the health to do so. So let us dream, and let us dream big!
